Keep your pages findable on Google without extra tools

re:index is the small tool re:praesent uses to keep your website’s pages visible to search engines. It gives Google an up-to-date list of your pages, proves the site is yours in Google Search Console, and sets the title and picture people see when a page is shared. We maintain it, so you do not have to install or learn a large search tool.
The new page Google never saw
You add a page for a new service. It reads well. Two months later it still does not show up when you search for it.
Often nothing is wrong with the page. Google simply was not told that it exists. Or the link, when a customer shares it in a message, shows a grey box and a meaningless title, so nobody taps it.
The usual answer is to install a large search add-on. It does these jobs, and a dozen others you did not ask for, with extra logins, extra scripts and more things that can break after an update.
The three jobs that matter
Most small business websites need three search jobs done well. re:index does those and stops there.
- Tell Google which pages exist. The tool writes a list of your pages, called a sitemap, and renews it whenever you publish, update or remove a page. Google is told each time.
- Prove the site is yours. It adds the verification code that Google Search Console asks for.
- Control what people see. We can set the title and the share image for each page, so a shared link looks like your business and not like an empty box.
Visitor counting with Plausible, which works without cookies, is turned on from the same settings screen. No second counting tool is needed.
How it works day to day
You publish or change a page. The page list renews itself and Google is told. You do nothing else.
The settings are in the Website section of the app. There is a switch to pause the tool. While it is off, the page list, the search tags and the visitor counting stop on your website. Nothing is deleted, and it all returns when you turn it on again.
In the app you see how people find you on Google, alongside your other results. The technical side stays with us. We would rather keep it running than hand you one more screen to learn.
What it does not do
It does not promise a position on Google. No tool can. Where a page appears depends on what the page says, how many others say the same, and how Google weighs them.
What re:index makes sure of is the part that is in your hands: Google knows the page exists, knows the site is yours, and has a proper title and picture to show.
It is also deliberately not a large search suite. If you want scoring, keyword hints and coloured lights on every page, this is not that.
What it costs
It is part of the re:praesent package: €300 a year or €30 a month, everything included, with no fee per user. The full list is on the pricing page.
If your current site has a search add-on you never open, tell us and we will check what it is really doing.
Questions
What is a sitemap, in plain words?
It is a list of your website’s pages, written for search engines. re:index renews it whenever you publish, update or remove a page.
Do I need my own Google Search Console set up?
The tool adds the verification code Search Console asks for. We handle the technical side as part of the service.
Will this put my website at the top of Google?
No. It makes sure Google knows about every page and shows a proper title and image. Position depends on the content and on Google.
Can I choose the picture that appears when a page is shared?
Yes. The title and the share image can be set for each page.
