What AI assistants say when people ask about you

AI visibility is a part of re:praesent that asks AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini the questions your customers ask, and records the answers. It shows whether they name your business, which competitors they name instead, which websites they read, and what you can do about it. It runs on your own AI account, with a monthly spending limit you set.

This feature is in pilot with our first customers. Ask us if you would like it switched on for your business.

People now ask an assistant, not only a search engine

Someone needs an electrician for a wallbox. A few years ago they typed that into a search engine and got a list of links.

Today some of them ask an AI assistant instead, and get three names with a short reason for each.

If your business is one of the three, you may get the call. If it is not, you never learn that the question was asked. No report on your website shows it, because the person never came to your website.

What it checks

You set it up once. re:praesent reads a few of your public pages, describes your business and suggests questions written the way people ask an assistant. Most of them do not contain your name, because that is how new customers ask. You tick the ones worth tracking.

It then asks those questions on the days you choose: every day, three days a week or once a week. The answers are sorted into sections.

  • Overview. In how many answers you were named, compared with before.
  • Questions. Each tracked question and how you do on it.
  • Competitors. The businesses you want to be compared with, and others the assistants keep naming.
  • Sources. The websites the assistants read, including those that mention a competitor and not you.
  • Answers. The full text of what each assistant said, so you can read it yourself.
  • What to do. Recommendations drawn from the last 30 days of answers.
  • Your website. A check of whether assistants can read your site, with suggestions for single pages.

How you use it

You do not need to look at it every day. When something needs you, the Today page says so, for example when an answer said something wrong about your business.

The section called “What to do” is where the work is. A typical recommendation names a directory, a magazine or a comparison page that the assistants read and that lists your competitors and not you. You can press “Make it a task” and it becomes a task with your name on it.

On the Results page, a short line tells you in how many answers you were named in the period, and whether anyone contacted you after an assistant sent them.

A clinic owner might look once a week, pick one recommendation, and hand it to whoever looks after the website.

What it does not do

It cannot make an assistant recommend you. Nobody can promise that. It shows what the assistants say and where they get it from, and the rest is ordinary work: being listed in the right places and having a website that states clearly what you do.

AI answers change from day to day. One answer proves little. The numbers settle over several weeks, and more slowly if you check once a week.

It asks the questions you chose. It does not see what real people typed into their own assistant.

What it costs

The feature is part of re:praesent, which costs €300 a year or €30 a month with no fee per user. See pricing.

The questions themselves are asked on your own account with OpenRouter, the same account the website chat uses. You pay OpenRouter directly at their prices, and we add nothing.

Before anything runs you see a monthly estimate and set a spending limit. The limit is a hard stop. When the next question would go over it, tracking pauses until the first of the next month, or until you raise the limit. You can also pause it yourself at any time, and nothing is spent while it is paused.

Questions

Which assistants does it ask?

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and others. During setup you choose which ones, and the monthly estimate changes with your choice.

Can it run up a bill without my noticing?

No. You set a monthly limit before it starts, and tracking pauses when the next question would go over it. The amount spent this month is shown on the page.

Do I need to understand AI to use this?

No. You read answers written in plain language and a list of recommendations. If the setup is unclear, our support can go through it with you by email, phone or video call.

What if an assistant says something wrong about my business?

The answer is flagged and shown on the Today page, and a recommendation under “Wrong facts” describes what to correct.

Is this the same as the chat on my website?

No. The website chat talks to your visitors. AI visibility checks what outside assistants say about you to people who have not found you yet.

Would this help your business?
