A cookie banner that someone actually looks after

re:cookie is the cookie banner that re:praesent builds, sets up for your market and keeps current on your website. Advertising and measurement scripts only load after a visitor has agreed. You do not buy a separate consent product, and you do not have to watch for updates yourself.
The banner nobody owns
Most small business websites have a cookie banner that somebody installed years ago. It came from a third party. It was set up once and never opened again.
Then the website gets an update and the banner stops working properly. Or, worse, it keeps showing the Accept and Decline buttons while the tracking scripts run either way. A visitor says no and is tracked regardless.
When that happens, the company that made the banner is not the company that hosts your website. You are left in the middle, and you usually find out late.
A consent banner is not decoration. It decides which scripts actually run on your pages.
What re:cookie does
We wrote the banner ourselves and we maintain it together with the rest of your website.
- Three separate groups: necessary, statistics and marketing. A visitor can agree to one and refuse another.
- Scripts for Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 or the Meta Pixel load only after the visitor has agreed.
- The banner text follows the language of the page, through our translation tool. A German, French or Dutch visitor does not get an English banner.
- It is set up for your market and updated with the website, by us.
How it works day to day
For you, almost nothing happens, and that is intended. The banner is on the site, it does its job, and we keep it working when the site is updated.
If you want to look at it, the settings are in the Website section of the app, under the same login you use for inquiries and deals.
There is a switch to pause it. When it is off, the banner and the tracking tags stop on your website until you turn it back on. Nothing is deleted.
One more thing helps here. The visitor numbers in re:praesent come from Plausible, which counts visits without cookies. So you can see how many people came to your site even from visitors who declined everything.
What it does not do
The banner controls which scripts load. It does not write your privacy policy and it is not legal advice. If you add a new advertising or tracking service to your website, tell us, so that it is placed behind the banner like the others.
It also does not make advertising scripts appear by itself. If you do not run Google or Meta advertising, there is simply less for the banner to hold back.
What it costs
The cookie banner is included. It is part of the re:praesent package: €300 a year or €30 a month, everything included, with no fee per user. The full list is on the pricing page.
If you are not sure what your current banner really does, ask us and we will look at it with you.
